Our Environmental Commitment

Harpy Eagle

We have a great commitment to the Amazonian environment and cultures. We contribute directly to the Conservation of the biodiversity and the revitalization of the First Nations cultures by sponsoring the Amazon Eagle Rescue Centre; protecting and co-managing the Shihuahuaco Ecological Reserve (500 hectares of pristine rainforest in front of the Sowewankeri Centre); and promoting sustainable development activities such as alternatives for local people to improve their living standards while at the same time reducing negative environmental impacts such as deforestation, fires, mercury pollution and water losses.

The Sowewankeri Amazon Healing Centre was constructed only using wood from naturally fallen trees and palms (by lightning, winds and age).

As a Healing Centre interested in the welfare of the Amazon, we have a strategic alliance with the Fundación Amazónica por la Reciprocidad – F.A.R. (Amazonian Foundation for Reciprocity), dedicated to promote the mutual benefit between society and environment.

By visiting the Sowewankeri Amazon Healing Centre you are contributing directly to the conservation of the Amazonian Biodiversity and Cultural revitalization.
