The Accomodation

The Sowewankeri Ayahuasca Healing Circle is constructed on the border of a 50-meter high cliff (barranco), from which there is a spectacular view of the Amazonian green horizon, the canopy world (life in the crowns of the trees), two swamps of Mauritia flexuosa (an Amazonian palm) and part of the Madre de Dios River (the Amarumayu or Snake River). When the visibility is good, it is possible to see on the horizon the high Andes from Cusco and Puno. During the sunrises and sunsets there is a great diversity of birds flying over the “Shihuahuaco Reserve” forests, an area which protects 500 hectares of these pristine rainforests whose management is in charge of the Sowewankeri Ayahuasca Healing Circle. Because of the altitude we can hear amplified amazing voices of the rainforest during the nights.
The Sowewankeri Centre has comfortable accommodations, with spectacular views of the rainforest and fresh water from a natural spring for drinking and showering. We offer several options: simple and double rooms - 4 different cabins with two beds and private bathroom each; and, a big house consisting of a 6 bedroom with double beds and 2 bedrooms with 5 beds with shared bathrooms for large groups. Our capacity is 30 people, with space for extra beds if necessary.

There is also the big main house with three saloons and plenty of space to relax; with hammocks, bathrooms, a nice kitchen and dining room. From every angle of this house you can admire the great view of the rainforest.

We have our team house, a kitchen to cook the Ayahuasca remedy, and a circular temple where we do the ceremonies.

Our staff will provide lots of special attention to our guests in order to make a home away from home for them. Our Sowewankeri team is formed by local people that physically construct this place. Here we serve our regional and Peruvian food, we offer our knowledge about the jungle and our experiences with the medicines.
